To begin at the beginning:

I used to love the internet. As a kid, browsing blogs and fansites was so much fun (RIP Mugglenet & company); here we are in 2025 and the internet has instead become, in many ways, something to dread–the endless scroll, the 24-hour news, inescapable social media platforms, the constant presence of someone trying to sell you something. There are of course a number of bastions against this onslaught (Wikipedia my beloved <3), but they are few and far between.

But I love connecting with people! I love sharing cool trees I see on walks, or fun crafts I’ve made, or day-to-day adventures. It might feel vain to say it, but who doesn’t like talking about themself? Even in the horrors that are 2025’s Mark and Jeff’s No-good Very Bad Torment Nexus Adventures, real joy and fun comes from talking to people we know and enjoy.

So I thought I’d start a blog, old-school style, to share little bits of my life, what’s been going on, and what I’m up to. I’m going to try to update this semi-regularly, with a mix of just about anything that comes up.

Why Grendel? Well, I just think he’s fun :^)
